Job summary

DecisionPoint seeks a Senior Data/ETL Engineer to sustain SSIS packages, develop approved data integrations, and maintain reliable pipelines supporting the USMEPCOM ENLIST program. You will work with governance, AI/ML, BI teams, and government stakeholders to ensure secure, traceable data deliveries.

The role focuses on raw, standardized, and curated data layers using SQL, Python, APIs, and incremental loading, with remote work and a preference for Chicago-area candidates.

Qualifications

• Eight+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience maintaining and supporting SSIS.
• Strong SQL and Python skills.
• Experience building or supporting API integrations.
• Experience implementing incremental data loads.
• Experience documenting and maintaining data lineage.
• Ability to manage schema changes and data pipelines.
• CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent IAT Level II when applicable.

Responsibilities

• Sustain, troubleshoot, and optimize SSIS packages and schedules.
• Develop and maintain integrations between source systems, APIs, and reporting platforms.
• Write SQL queries, stored procedures, and transformations.
• Develop Python scripts for data ingestion, processing, and automation.
• Implement raw, standard, and curated data layers with transformation rules.
• Build incremental loads with checkpoints and tracking.
• Handle API authentication, pagination, retries, logging, and errors.
• Reconcile source and target data using business rules.
• Manage schema changes and their effects on pipelines.
• Maintain mappings, metadata, and data lineage.
• Implement controls for duplicate/missing/invalid records and reprocessing.
• Monitor pipeline execution and data freshness.
• Investigate complex failures across SSIS, SQL, APIs and data sources.
• Coordinate changes with cross-team stakeholders.
• Support automated regression testing and data-quality checks.
• Maintain versioned code and deployment/runbooks.
