Job summary

DecisionPoint is seeking a Lead Data/ETL Engineer to lead enterprise ETL pipelines, optimize SSIS, and implement API integrations for reliable data delivery. You will collaborate with DBAs, architects, governance, AI/ML engineers, BI developers, testers, and Government stakeholders to ensure accurate, traceable data pipelines supporting mission analysis and reporting.

This remote role prefers Chicago-area candidates and requires a Secret-level clearance plus 12+ years of experience in data

Qualifications

Active Secret clearance or higher.
12+ years of relevant experience.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
Experience maintaining and optimizing SSIS.
Strong SQL skills.
Experience with Python and data engineering automation.
Experience implementing API integrations.
Experience developing incremental data loads.
Experience documenting data lineage.
Experience troubleshooting complex data pipelines.
Ability to build raw, standardized, and curated data layers.
Ability to manage reconciliation, retries, schema changes, and failed-record handling.
Experience with change-data capture where appropriate.
CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent when applicable.

Responsibilities

Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise ETL pipelines.
Maintain and optimize SSIS packages, configurations, and schedules.
Develop SQL queries, stored procedures, and transformations.
Use Python to support ingestion, orchestration, validation, and recovery.
Implement API integrations including authentication, pagination, and retries.
Design incremental loading strategies and apply CDC where appropriate.
Build raw, standardized, and curated data layers with clear transformation rules.
Establish source-to-target mappings and data lineage.
Implement reconciliation checks and error handling of failed records.
Coordinate with governance, AI/ML, BI, and Government stakeholders.
Maintain version-controlled code and deployment/runbooks.
Review designs, mentor engineers, and communicate health and risks.
