Job summary

Universal Music Group is seeking a Senior Data Engineering Manager to lead a team of data engineers building enterprise-grade data products and AI-ready data assets. You will shape scalable pipelines and architectures that power commerce analytics, ML workloads, and AI initiatives across the organization.

You will partner with Ecommerce, Product, Growth, Finance, and Data Science to enable feature stores and model-ready datasets, ensuring data quality, governance, and semantic consistency for AI

Qualifications

• 10+ years of data engineering experience with 3+ years in a leadership role, handling ecommerce/retail data domains.
• Strong knowledge of modern data architectures including lakehouse, real-time streaming, and batch processing.
• Proven leadership delivering AI-ready data platforms, feature stores, and ML/AI data pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of data engineers delivering enterprise-grade data products and AI-ready assets.
• Design and deliver scalable data pipelines and architectures supporting analytics and AI workloads.
• Collaborate with Ecommerce, Product, Growth/Marketing, Finance, and Data Science stakeholders to enable AI use cases and model-ready datasets.
• Champion data quality, governance, lineage, and semantic consistency across domains.
