Job summary

Huntington Bancshares, Inc. is seeking a Senior Lead Data Engineer to architect and operationalize enterprise data solutions supporting analytics initiatives.

You will lead data engineering efforts, ensuring data accuracy and governance while guiding teams through design, development, and deployment of data pipelines. You will partner with data science and business analytics teams, mentor engineers, and drive strategy for scalable data platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in computer science, statistics, related field or relevant work experience.
• 10+ years of related experience in data management disciplines including data integration, modeling, optimization, and data quality, and/or other areas directly relevant to data engineering responsibilities and tasks.
• 10+ years of technical leadership and experience with data-centric products, experience with database programming languages, and with advanced analytics tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead Data Engineers projects and efforts.
• Help set the strategy and tone for data engineering strategy and vision for the future.
• Leads the architecting, creating, and maintaining of data pipelines.
• Work in partnership with data science teams and with business analysts in refining their data requirements for various data and analytics initiatives and their data consumption requirements.
• Work with data governance teams and participate in vetting and promoting content created in the business and by data scientists to the curated data catalog for governed reuse.
• Provides leadership, coaching, and mentoring to team members and develops the team to work with all areas of the organization.
• Identifies the roles, skills, and knowledge required to achieve organizational goals, and forecasts new skill requirements.
• Leads the evaluation of tools with key stakeholders across varying management levels to prioritize analytics use cases and requests and maintain the overall book of work.
• Plans and ensures the execution of work, and achievement of team goals.
• Strategic, intellectually curious thinker with focus on outcomes.
• Professional image with the ability to form relationships across functions.
• Works with stakeholders to ensure that business needs are clearly understood and that services meet those needs.
• Anticipates and analyzes trends in technology while assessing the emerging technology’s impact(s).
