Job summary

Synechron in New York, NY seeks a Senior Data Engineer focused on Credit Risk to design and maintain robust data pipelines and analytical models. You will work with Databricks and Medallion Lakehouse patterns to ingest, transform, and serve data for BI tools and downstream apps.

You will drive architecture discussions, ensure secure operations, and collaborate across teams in an Agile environment. Strong Python, SQL, and cloud experience are essential for success.

Qualifications

  • 12-15 years of experience as an application developer.
  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or equivalent cloud certification.
  • Proficiency with REST API development using Django, Flask, FastAPI, or similar.
  • Strong domain expertise in Credit Risk and Counterparty Risk.
  • Expert-level Python, PySpark for data engineering and analytics.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks and Medallion Lakehouse Architecture.
  • Solid SQL knowledge including joins, unions, stored procedures, and query optimization.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Git, Jenkins, and Azure DevOps.
  • Agile development experience with JIRA/Confluence/Zephyr.
  • Excellent communication and collaborative skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead architecture and technical design discussions for Credit Risk data solutions.
  • Support production operations and resolve complex issues as a senior developer.
  • Design and implement batch and ad-hoc data pipelines using Medallion Lakehouse on Databricks.
  • Build data ingestion flows from upstream systems into object storage (S3/ADLS) with Parquet.
  • Integrate with external XVA/risk engines and orchestrate long-running computations.
  • Model and optimize risk measures (EPE, PFE) for BI tools and notebooks.
  • Ensure platform reliability, security (IAM, OIDC, encryption) and observability.
  • Contribute to API design and documentation, with clear versioning and SLAs.
