Job summary

Booz Allen seeks an experienced Data Engineer and Technical Lead to guide data engineering activities across mission-driven projects. You will oversee pipelines, mentor a diverse team, and drive scalable platform design in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include supervising engineers, applying PySpark/Databricks, and ensuring robust governance. This role targets high-impact work with a focus on public trust and national intelligence domains.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in data engineering or software engineering with a data focus, including Databricks in production.
• 7+ years of Python and SQL experience, including PySpark performance tuning on large datasets.
• 5+ years of production experience with Delta Lake and lakehouse design.
• 3+ years with Databricks Workflows/Jobs and YAML deployments.
• 3+ years with Unity Catalog governance and catalog/schema design.
• 3+ years of data-engineering software practices (Git, tests, CI/CD) for Databricks assets.
• Experience supervising engineers and leading Agile delivery.
• Knowledge of AWS Databricks dependencies (S3, IAM roles, Secrets Manager).
• Bachelor’s degree on file.

Responsibilities

• Lead data engineering activities and oversee design, build, and maintenance of scalable data pipelines and platforms.
• Mentor a multi-disciplinary team of analysts, engineers, developers, and data consumers in an agile environment.
• Oversee assessment, design, and deployment of data platforms for clients in mission-driven projects.
