Job summary

Nimble Gravity is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to architect and build foundational data pipelines for a modern cloud data platform centered on Snowflake. You will guide a small team, mentor analysts, and enable decentralized teams to deliver self-service data products in a evolving Data Mesh.

Responsibilities include optimizing the Snowflake platform, implementing dbt transformations, and advancing AI-ready semantic layers for AI and NLP features across on-prem and cloud sources.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of dedicated data engineering experience.
• Hands-on Snowflake architecture, performance tuning, and data sharing.
• Experience moving data across hybrid on-prem to cloud.
• Experience building semantic layers for AI/LLM.
• Strong Python and SQL capabilities in cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Pipeline Architecture: design and maintain scalable data pipelines for batch, streaming, and event-driven movement.
• Snowflake Platform Ownership: core developer for Snowflake data platform, tuning performance and storage.
• AI Readiness & Semantic Modeling: build transform pipelines and semantic models for AI features.
• Data Mesh Enablement: establish reference architectures and templates for decentralized teams.
• Leadership & Mentorship: mentor one data engineer and guide analysts to mature practices.
• Modernization & Tooling: drive dbt adoption and integrate AWS/Azure data tools.
