Job summary

Coupang in Mountain View, CA is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join the Search and Discovery team to shape analytics and data pipelines for high-volume ingestion and production ETL/ELT systems. You will partner with Data Science, Engineering, and Product to log and leverage Search data, ensure data quality, and optimize performance, cost, and security across the data lifecycle.

The role requires 6 years of data engineering experience, a CS degree, and hands-on SQL, Python, and ETL expertise;

Qualifications

• 6 years of relevant industry experience as a data engineer in a technology company.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Proficiency in Data modeling, ETL, Python and SQL.

Responsibilities

• Ideate, build, and manage analytics and production data ETL/ELT systems for high-volume data ingestion from diverse sources.
• Partner with Data Science, Engineering, and Product to enable reliable, accurate logging/implementation and usage of Search data.
• Ensure data quality, observability, and reliability across the data lifecycle.
• Optimize systems for performance, cost efficiency, and scalability.
• Define and manage SLAs for data systems.
• Ensure security and compliance of data per industry standards.
