Job summary

Eurofins USA Environment Testing seeks a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain data pipelines for complex chemical data, supporting ML model training and deployment. You will work closely with ML engineers and chemists to ensure scalable, reliable data infrastructure.

The role emphasizes data modeling, governance, and tooling to enable reproducible analytics across chromatograms and laboratory results, leveraging Azure-based data services and modern orchestration tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Expert-level proficiency in Python with Pandas/NumPy.
• Hands-on cloud experience (Azure preferred) including data lake/storage, compute, and serverless functions.
• Proven track record building ETL/ELT pipelines and data warehousing for ML.
• Experience with scientific data (chromatography, mass spectrometry) and data governance.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for chemistry data (CSV, JSON, instrument formats).
• Develop data models and manage a data warehouse/data lake for ML feature engineering.
• Collaborate with ML engineers to containerize and deploy models and automate retraining.
• Implement robust data quality checks and data governance for reproducible chemistry data.
• Create internal tools and APIs to enable data access for ML and lab systems.
