Job summary

Eurofins Scientific is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines and infrastructure supporting ML model training, deployment, and analysis workflows. You will work closely with ML Engineers and Chemists to ingest complex chemical data, implement data quality checks, and develop tools and APIs for data access across lab systems.

Experience with Python, cloud data services, and data orchestration is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field.
• Expert-level Python with Pandas/NumPy and data engineering libraries.
• Hands-on cloud experience (Azure preferred) including ADLS, VMs, and serverless functions.
• Experience with data orchestration tools (Airflow, Dagster, Prefect).
• Strong SQL knowledge and experience with PostgreSQL and NoSQL data stores.
• Familiarity with ML Ops platforms (MLflow, Kubeflow, Azure ML Studio).
• Experience handling complex scientific data (e.g., chromatograms, mass spectrometry) is a plus.
• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship; proficient English.

Responsibilities

• Data Pipeline Development: design, construct, and manage scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for chemistry data.
• Data Modeling & Warehousing: develop data models and manage a data lake/warehouse for ML features.
• ML Infrastructure: containerize and deploy ML models; build retraining and monitoring pipelines.
• Data Quality & Governance: implement data quality checks and monitoring for reproducibility.
• Tooling: build internal tools and APIs for data access by ML engineers and chemists.
