Job summary

CoStar Group in Richmond, VA seeks a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and scale data pipelines and data platforms, focusing on migrating and transforming external data for our enterprise contracting systems.

You will work with cross-functional teams, apply modern data warehousing practices, and contribute to data quality and governance while embracing AI-assisted development tools. This role offers in-office hours Monday-Thursday with Friday remote.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• 5+ years of data engineering experience with technical direction.
• Hands-on experience building batch and incremental ingestion pipelines from multiple sources.
• Experience normalizing third-party schemas into enterprise models.
• Advanced SQL and data modeling skills, plus Python/Scala/Java/C#/.NET.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data platforms.
• Develop and optimize ETL/ELT processes for large datasets.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, DevOps and DBA teams to deliver production systems.
• Mentor other engineers on the team.
