Job summary

Roblox is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to define Roblox’s data ontology and standardize data operations. You will lead a growing team of data engineers, design and maintain batch and streaming pipelines, and build tooling to simplify analytics work for data science and product teams.

You will collaborate across Data Science, Experimentation, and ML groups, partnering with Data Infrastructure to deliver integrated data solutions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years building scalable ETL pipelines with SQL/PySpark/Scala.
• 3+ years leading data engineering with business or data science partners.
• Experience with multi-terabyte data sets and analytics scale challenges.
• Experience with at least one major cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Developed or enhanced ETL orchestration tools or frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Define the data ontology for Roblox in collaboration with Data Science, Product, and Engineering.
• Lead and mentor a growing team of Data Engineers.
• Design, build, and maintain batch and streaming data pipelines to populate core data sets.
• Develop scalable frameworks and tooling to automate analytics workflows.
• Establish standard methodologies for data operations and lifecycle management.
