Job summary

Mastercard is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and operate scalable data platforms and pipelines for the Integrated Marketing Platform. You will partner with product, engineering, analytics, and business teams to deliver secure, reliable data solutions enabling campaign measurement, reporting, and AI/ML capabilities.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Hive, Spark/PySpark, Apache Kafka.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, Scala, or SQL.
• Experience building scalable data platforms and distributed data processing solutions.
• Experience developing data pipelines for analytics, reporting, ML, and operational data products.
• Deep understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT design patterns, data architecture, and data lifecycle management.
• Knowledge of data governance, security, privacy, lineage, metadata management, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience implementing CI/CD, DevOps automation, infrastructure-as-code, and observability frameworks.
• Strong problem-solving skills for distributed environments.
• Demonstrated ownership, initiative, and independent execution.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management across engineering, product, analytics, and business.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, deploy, and maintain scalable data pipelines for products and analytics workloads.
• Develop reusable data ingestion, transformation, orchestration and delivery frameworks.
• Build and support enterprise data warehouse, data lake, and lakehouse solutions.
• Lead initiatives on platform scalability, performance, reliability, and operational efficiency.
• Implement and enhance data quality, observability, governance, security, lineage, and monitoring.
• Partner with product, engineering, analytics, and business teams to translate requirements into measurable outcomes.
• Support modernization and cloud migrations of legacy platforms.
• Enable analytics, AI/ML, experimentation and customer insights through trusted data foundations.
• Adhere to CI/CD, infra-as-code, and operational excellence best practices.
• Troubleshoot production issues and lead root-cause analyses to improve stability.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership; drive innovation and knowledge sharing.
