Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a Data Engineer Senior to own data pipelines and PostgreSQL stewardship on CMS CPI projects. You will design and maintain AWS-hosted databases, optimize performance, and ensure data quality across systems in a remote US-based role.

You will implement CDC/streaming architectures, collaborate with DevOps and analytics teams, and support near real-time data movement to data lakes and reporting schemas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Data Science, or IS.
• 5+ years of related experience.
• Experience administering AWS RDS/Aurora PostgreSQL.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support AWS-hosted PostgreSQL environments, including monitoring, backups, and maintenance.
• Monitor health, performance, and replication status to ensure stability.
• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines using Python and AWS data services.
