Job summary

Buyers Edge Platform in the United States is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead on our core data platform, designing schemas, building ETL/ELT pipelines, and shaping data models that support product analytics and reporting. You will collaborate with the Lead Software Engineer to set technical direction across governance, security, and long-term architecture.

This remote role requires expert SQL, data modeling, and orchestration experience, with 5+ years in data engineering and cloud

Qualifications

• 5+ years of data engineering experience including relational databases, APIs, batch/streaming patterns, and cloud data platforms.
• Demonstrated ability designing end-to-end data flows, orchestration, scheduling, error handling, and recovery patterns.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/IS or 5+ years equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the primary relational database platform, including schema design and lifecycle management for Realtime Solution SQL Server databases.
• Architect, build, and maintain ETL/ELT data pipelines that support data infrastructure.
• Design data models and schemas for multiple application and reporting layers.
• Define and enforce data contracts between source systems and downstream consumers.
• Implement governance and security best practices, including PII handling, RBAC, and encryption.
• Own disaster recovery, backup strategy, and restore procedures for the data platform.
• Manage schema change deployments across environments with migration scripts and releases.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation including data dictionaries and runbooks.
• Evaluate tools and technologies to improve the data platform.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers on data engineering best practices and SQL proficiency.
• Support skill development through code reviews and pair programming.
• Champion engineering standards and elevate team capability.
