Job summary

SHI One, within the Advanced Solutions Group, is expanding its data engineering team. The Senior Data Engineer will design, develop, and maintain ETL workflows and data platforms to centralize and analyze data for internal users, customers, and partners.

You will collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs, establish a new data engineering practice, and provide technical leadership across projects, with a focus on delivering scalable data solutions and robust documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience.
• Ten years of experience developing data applications, relational databases, and ETL platforms.
• Experience building highly available and testable ETL systems that support critical business operations.
• Expert knowledge of data modeling, database design, and data warehousing.
• Expert knowledge of SQL scripting.
• Excellent spoken and written communication as well as receptive listening skills.
• Ability to present ideas clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to shift priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Strong ability to work independently or in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
• Ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks.
• Excellent time-management skills.
• Strong problem prevention, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks.

Responsibilities

• Help drive data strategy, including data model designs and data warehouse management.
• Coach team members through code and design reviews to ensure standards.
• Lead by shipping high-quality solutions and maintaining technical excellence.
• Coordinate with development teams, stakeholders, and customers for smooth data systems.
• Extend data engineering environment for developer efficiency, testing and integration.
• Recommend continuous improvements for data and ETL processes.
• Participate in end-to-end data architecture optimization across tech stack.
• Lead creation of technical documentation and architecture diagrams.
• Review best practices around data architecture with the team.
