Job summary

Horizon3 is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and own the data platform underpinning our production pipelines. You will expand data capabilities across the warehouse, orchestration, and BI to support analytics, with global deployment considerations across regions.

You will shape the data pipeline architecture, work with Databricks and lakehouse platforms, and own end-to-end data infrastructure including observability and contracts between teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of experience in data engineering, infrastructure engineering, or backend software engineering.
• Strong software engineering craft with clean, maintainable code and solid data-structure fundamentals.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems and data architecture: batch vs streaming, CDC, multi-region trade-offs, observability.
• Fluent SQL and data-modeling skills; experience designing warehouse schemas.
• Experience owning production data infrastructure end to end.
• Strong collaboration and ownership across dependent teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and AWS Glue/Spark jobs feeding the warehouse and BI/reporting (Tableau).
• Build and operate core data infrastructure: data warehouse, orchestration, and BI platform across regions.
• Shape warehouse strategy and lakehouse platforms (e.g., Databricks).
• Define contracts between producer and consumer teams, manage batch vs streaming, CDC, reprocessing, multi-tenant trade-offs.
• Evolve warehouse schemas and data models.
• Build observability into pipelines and platform components.
• Drive work across teams and own outcomes end to end.
