Job summary

OneOncology in the United States is seeking a hands-on Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and scale data platforms used across our oncology ecosystem. The role is based in Austin, TX, Nashville, TN, or fully remote, joining a small, accountable team delivering cloud-native solutions.

You will translate business needs into robust data pipelines, mentor peers, and drive best practices in data quality, governance, and observability while collaborating with IT, analytics, and product teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on SQL development.
• 8+ years in relational and non-relational databases, data modeling, and query optimization.
• 5+ years developing scalable solutions using Python or similar OO language.
• Proficient in Databricks, Spark, and Delta tables; large-scale distributed data processing experience.
• Solid understanding of Lakehouse and Medallion architectures.
• Experience designing Data Integration/ETL pipelines using Azure Data Factory or equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or related field; or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Design & implement robust, scalable data processes to enhance our BI platform.
• Gain proficiency with big data and cloud technologies to build and optimize large-scale data solutions.
• Translate business requirements into technical deliverables and identify dependencies and risks.
• Deliver high-quality, maintainable code with best practices for version control, testing, and deployment.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and design data solutions aligned with goals.
• Continuously optimize data pipelines, system performance, and process efficiency.
• Mentor team members on modern data engineering concepts and best practices.
• Adapt to changing priorities and communicate effectively across teams.
• Troubleshoot complex issues and maintain system stability.
• Take ownership of code, architecture, and documentation for clear communication.
• Stay current with emerging technologies in healthcare data engineering.
