Job summary

Tecla is seeking a Sr. Data Engineer to build and operate ingestion pipelines, Snowflake models, and data quality systems essential for our DaaS, DWaaS, FDE, and Altitude offerings.

You’ll work hands-on across data ingestion, modeling, and quality checks while engaging with early customers to turn learnings into reusable patterns. Qualifications

• 5+ years in data engineering or a similar role.
• Strong SQL and experience building production-grade data transformations.
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake or a comparable cloud data warehouse.
• Experience with dbt.
• Experience building and maintaining ingestion and data pipelines with tools such as Fivetran, Azure Data Factory, or similar, including orchestration and production monitoring.
• Experience with dimensional modeling (Kimball). Familiarity with normalized enterprise patterns (Inmon, Data Vault) is a plus, and you will work in a Data Vault 2.0 environment here.
• Solid grasp of data warehousing, data quality, and data lineage concepts.
• Ability to translate business requirements into reliable, reusable data products and platform capabilities, rather than one-off customer implementations.
• Experience troubleshooting data issues across source systems, pipelines, transformations, and reporting layers.
• Experience working directly with customers or business stakeholders to gather requirements, explain technical tradeoffs, and deliver production data solutions.

Responsibilities

• Build, monitor, and maintain scalable ingestion and pipelines that move and transform partner data for DaaS, DWaaS, reporting, and AI use cases.
• Own pipeline reliability in production: keep connectors, orchestration, and transformations healthy, and resolve issues quickly when they break.
• Design and improve Snowflake data models that support DaaS, DWaaS, and Altitude.
• Build reliable, testable, version-controlled transformations in dbt.
• Partner directly with customers to onboard partner data into managed Snowflake environments.
• Help customers migrate from APIs, legacy warehouses, spreadsheets, and existing BI tools to the Data as a Service platform.
• Define and implement data quality checks, readiness standards, and monitoring so customers can trust the data they receive.
• Normalize and model hospitality data across financial, labor, operational, asset management, and CapEx domains.
• Troubleshoot data issues end to end, across source systems, pipelines, transformations, and reporting layers.
• Contribute to the shared metric definitions that keep data consistent across BI and AI.
• Identify repeatable implementation patterns and turn them into reusable platform capabilities, templates, documentation, and automation.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Solution Engineering, Customer Success, and customers to translate business requirements into clean, reusable data products while upholding engineering best practices including code review, CI/CD, and testing.
