Job summary

Prematch Sports GmbH is seeking a data-focused software engineer to maintain and improve football data pipelines, results, lineups, goals, appearances, stats and market values. You will build Python services and pipelines, ensure data quality, and collaborate with engineers on data models.

You’ll join Core Systems, contributing to production-grade data workflows and dashboards for internal teams and partners. Hybrid work with options across Europe and UK, plus remote opportunities.

Qualifications

• You’ve built and run production data pipelines that others rely on.
• You’ve shipped Python services with tests and code reviews.
• You’re strong in SQL and model data cleanly on PostgreSQL or similar.
• You’ve owned the quality of a dataset with checks and monitoring.
• You’ve made data you don’t control reliable, with messy data scenarios.
• You can explain data problems clearly to non-SQL folks.
• Familiar with modern data tooling (ETL, pipelines, dashboards).

Responsibilities

• Ensure football data matches what happened on the pitch.
• Build and run Python services and pipelines to transform data from multiple sources.
• Validate, monitor, and alert on data quality; fix root causes.
• Learn grassroots football data behavior and codify rules.
• Shape data models with engineers for acquisitions and processing.
• Support internal teams with data requests and checks.
• Create internal tools for data verification and fixes.
