Job summary

Cash App is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and optimize data models across multiple product domains, building data pipelines and AI-enabled automation to empower business decisions.

You will own critical data infrastructure, implement quality and lineage monitoring, and collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Data Science teams to deliver scalable analytics across Block brands.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years related experience with data engineering emphasis.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and DBT.
• Experience designing medium-to-large data engineering solutions across lifecycle stages.
• Experience with ETL scheduling tech like Airflow or Prefect and dependency checking.
• Proven ability in schema design and dimensional data modeling.
• Experience with data quality and data lineage monitoring.
• Experience applying AI/agentic automation to data workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead the creation and optimization of data models across eventing, customer-level, and process-level data.
• Own critical data pipelines including money transfer movement data and data infrastructure for experimentation.
• Build monitoring for data quality and lineage; develop AI agents to reduce false positives and automate resolutions.
• Participate in on-call rotation, diagnose issues, and fix pipelines to meet SLAs; automate this process with AI agents.
• Collaborate with non-technical partners to understand needs and translate requirements into automated end-to-end data solutions.
