Job summary

Cash App is seeking a senior Data Engineer to design and optimize data models and pipelines that power analytics across our product ecosystem. You will collaborate with Product Data Engineering, Data Science, and AI teams to enable scalable, reliable datasets used by multiple product lines.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years of experience, proficiency in SQL, Python and DBT, and a track record delivering end-to-end data solutions with modern tooling like Airflow, Databricks, and Snowflake.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 8 years and a Master’s degree, or equivalent experience.
• High proficiency in SQL, Python, and Dbt.
• Experience designing medium-to-large data engineering solutions across the entire project lifecycle.
• Experience with ETL scheduling technologies with dependency checking, such as Airflow or Prefect.
• Experience in schema design and dimensional data modeling.
• Experience with setting up data quality and data lineage monitoring.
• Experience with data driven decisions through AI and agentic automation.

Responsibilities

• Lead the creation and optimization of data models across eventing, customer-level, and process-level data.
• Take ownership of critical data pipelines across Block – including foundational datasets and the data infrastructure powering experimentation platform.
• Build monitoring to assess data quality and lineage; develop AI agents for automated resolution.
• Participate in on-call rotation, monitor and diagnose issues, and ensure SLAs are met with stakeholders.
• Translate business requirements into automated end-to-end data solutions with non-technical partners.
