Job summary

Meta is seeking a Data Engineer to shape data infrastructure across its family of applications, including Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, and Reality Labs. You will design scalable data solutions, build data artifacts, and partner with engineering and product teams to drive growth and user experiences for billions of users and millions of businesses worldwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of experience with data-related roles (data engineer/analyst/scientist).
• 7+ years of experience with SQL, ETL, data modeling, and at least one programming language (Python, C++, C#, Scala).

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and own the data architecture for multiple large-scale projects.
• Develop and refine data logging frameworks and triage data issues.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and data scientists to understand data needs and visualize insights.
• Define and manage SLAs for data sets in ownership areas.
• Ensure data security, quality, and governance across ownership domains.
• Design, build, and launch data models and visualizations for multiple use cases.
• Solve data integration challenges using ETL patterns and diverse data sources.
• Improve production data processes and optimize code for performance.
• Enhance pipelines, dashboards, and tooling to simplify data artifact development.
• Influence cross-functional teams to identify data opportunities and impact.
• Mentor teammates with actionable feedback.
