Job summary

Jobtailor in New Jersey is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to contribute to an in-house enterprise data platform. You will develop features, fix bugs, document components, and train peers while deepening your knowledge of platform architecture, databases, and cloud technologies.

You will implement innovative data engineering solutions, lead code reviews, and present architecture ideas to technical and non-technical audiences, mentoring junior team members in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field.
• 5 years of related experience.
• 5 years of experience with Python or PySpark.
• 5 years of experience configuring and managing ETL pipelines for diverse datasets.
• 5 years of experience making and presenting technical architecture presentations to technical and non-technical audiences.
• 2 years of experience with AWS and Azure cloud service offerings.
• Authority to work permanently in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the firm’s in-house enterprise data platform through features, bug fixes, documentation, and training
• Document code and other project components
• Develop advanced knowledge of platform architecture, databases, schema design, and cloud technologies
• Implement innovative data engineering solutions independently within project scope
• Train individuals or small groups in data engineering best practices
• Communicate data engineering architecture knowledge in client selling situations and translate client needs into action plans
• Produce data engineering solutions and outline implementation frameworks
• Lead code reviews and write well-encapsulated DRY code
• Participate in implementation and architecture discussions with senior team members
• Prepare presentation materials by synthesizing results and communicating information
• Lead storyboarding presentations and run internal and client team meetings
• Lead teams and mentor junior team members
• Foster an innovative and inclusive team-oriented work environment
• Serve as a Professional Development Manager
