Job summary

Whisker, headquartered in Auburn Hills, Michigan, is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines within a modern cloud lakehouse. You will work with Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake, and MLflow to support analytics, reporting, and ML initiatives.

You will collaborate with data science, analytics, and engineering teams, lead data-engineering efforts across multiple time zones, and help guide architectural decisions while focusing on reliability and cost

Qualifications

8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including leadership of engineers
Experience designing and delivering scalable data pipelines and data platforms
Proven ability to build and operate data lakehouse architectures using Databricks and related cloud tech

Responsibilities

Designs, builds, and maintains scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Databricks, Spark, and Delta Lake
Architects data lakehouse solutions following medallion architecture (bronze/silver/gold with DBT)
Mentors junior data engineers and leads architectural reviews
Collaborates with data scientists and stakeholders to deliver reliable data solutions
Develops and supports MLOps workflows and CI/CD for data and ML deployments
Monitors and optimizes pipelines for performance, reliability, and cost
