Job summary

First American Title Insurance Co. seeks a Senior Data Engineer in Fort Mill, SC to design and deliver big data platforms for advanced analytics and reliable data processing. This hybrid role focuses on scalable internal systems and high-quality data delivery in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

You will build data pipelines, model data, and optimize performance across SQL Server and NoSQL databases, while applying Agile SDLC practices and modern cloud computing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; equivalent education/experience.
• 5–8 years of related experience.
• Experience in Agile SDLC methodology.
• Strong SQL and T-SQL programming.
• Hands-on experience building data/ETL pipelines and data warehouse solutions.
• Expertise in data modeling, database maintenance, monitoring and performance tuning (SQL Server, MongoDB, or NoSQL).
• Excellent analytical ability with large data sets.
• Strong written and verbal communication and precise documentation.
• Self-driven, independent, multi-tasking with team orientation.
• Familiarity with modern cloud computing technology.

Responsibilities

• Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements for scalability and automation.
• Design, develop, code, test, and document architectures to support analytics and data processing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to align with business requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve data issues impacting platform reliability and data flow.
• Provide innovative recommendations to improve data reliability, efficiency and quality.
• Perform duties outside of normal hours as required by business needs.
• Act as a data expert driving innovation and supporting high-impact initiatives.
