Job summary

United Therapeutics in RTP, NC is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain our data and analytics architecture. You will build ETL/ELT pipelines with Databricks and Azure Data Factory, ensure data quality, and collaborate with analysts, data scientists, and business teams.

The role requires deep data engineering expertise, strong programming (Python), and the ability to lead multiple workstreams while aligning with stakeholders. Hybrid work schedule with in-office days.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building EDW and pipelines with a Bachelor's Degree
• 3+ years data architecting/engineering with proven delivery
• 3+ years SaaS integration (e.g., Salesforce) or equivalent
• 3+ years working with AppDev/BI/AI teams
• Advanced SQL with performance tuning and stored procedures
• Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks and Spark
• Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory for ETL/ELT pipelines
• Proficiency in Python and data warehousing concepts
• Experience with BI/Analytics platforms and data governance
• Strong problem solving and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using Databricks and Azure Data Factory
• Provide access controls and security for data assets
• Monitor and maintain daily data processing operations
• Collaborate with analysts and data scientists to deliver data solutions
• Mentor junior data engineers and review external consultants' work
• Monitor data systems for performance and reliability
• Lead data management best practices and process improvements
• Participate in code reviews and technical documentation
• Provide BI/analytics leadership to stakeholders
