Job summary

United Therapeutics seeks a Senior Data Engineer to lead the design, development, and maintenance of enterprise data pipelines and analytics architecture. You will work across teams to ensure efficient data flow, security, and scalability in a hybrid RTP, NC office setting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building and maintaining data pipelines and EDW in enterprise environments.
• 3+ years delivering complex data solutions with data architecture and engineering.
• 3+ years of Tier 1 SaaS integration experience or equivalent.
• Advanced SQL skills including complex queries, tuning, and stored procedures.
• Hands-on Azure Databricks with Spark processing, notebooks, and Delta Lake.
• Hands-on Azure Data Factory for ETL/ELT orchestration and monitoring.
• Proficiency in Python and data warehousing concepts.
• Experience collaborating with BI/AI teams and stakeholders.
• Strong problem solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using Databricks and Azure Data Factory.
• Provide access controls and security for data assets.
• Maintain daily data processing operations with monitoring and alerts.
• Collaborate with analysts and data scientists to meet data needs.
• Mentor junior engineers and review work from external consultants.
• Monitor data systems for performance and reliability.
• Lead data management best practices and process improvements.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical docs.
• Provide leadership on BI and analytics platforms.
