Job summary

Blu Omega LLC is seeking an experienced data engineer to design, build, and optimize enterprise-grade ETL/ELT pipelines in a hybrid work environment based in Ashburn, VA or the greater Washington DC area.

You will develop data models, data warehouses, data lakes, and lakehouse architectures using Databricks and Azure Data Factory, ensuring data is accessible for analytics, reporting, and data science while maintaining governance and security standards.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in data engineering, software engineering, or similar roles.
• 6+ years hands-on Python and SQL experience with scalable ETL/ELT pipelines.
• 2+ years with Azure Data Factory and 1+ year with Databricks.
• Strong knowledge of data integration, modeling, and governance.
• U.S. citizenship or Lawful Permanent Residency and Public Trust eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Build scalable data models, data warehouses, data lakes, and lakehouses using Databricks.
• Ingest, clean, validate, and transform large-scale datasets from diverse sources.
• Create data schemas and models supporting analytics, reporting, and data science.
• Implement data quality, metadata management, governance, and security controls.
• Collaborate with cloud engineering to deploy solutions in Microsoft Azure.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize pipeline performance and reliability.
• Document architecture, data flows, and procedures for maintainability.
