Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced informatics/data engineering professional to join a cross-disciplinary team in Atlanta. You will design and implement data pipelines, ensure HIPAA-compliant architectures, and apply biomedical informatics standards to support research and reporting initiatives.

The role involves leading small technical teams, mentoring analysts, and driving adoption of modern tools like Airflow, Azure Synapse, and Databricks to deliver secure, scalable data solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field with five years of related experience.
• Proficiency in data pipeline orchestration (Airflow, DBT, Azure Data Factory, etc.).
• Proficiency in Python or Scala.
• Knowledge of interoperability standards (OMOP CDM, FHIR).
• Experience with CI/CD and DevOps in data engineering.
• Experience with AI/ML pipelines and feature engineering.
• Experience with ATLAS OHDSI, ML platforms, or analytics tools.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with analytics and engineering teams to deliver applications within scope, on time, and within budget.
• Mentor analysts and lead small technical teams on regulation adherence.
• Develop data architecture and documentation for informatic solutions.
• Integrate disparate data sources for improved reporting efficiency.
• Promote emerging technologies and develop proof-of-concepts.
• Maintain data standards and metadata across projects.
• Apply biomedical informatics standards to program needs and outcomes.
• Ensure HIPAA-compliant and secure data architectures where applicable.
