Job summary

Harnham is hiring a Senior Data Engineer to design and evolve a large-scale enterprise data platform within a financial services environment. You’ll own the design and delivery of enterprise ETL/ELT pipelines, improve engineering standards, and shape how data is ingested, transformed and delivered across the organization.

You’ll build pipelines with Fivetran, Snowflake and dbt, architect data flows, develop dbt models, and optimize Snowflake for performance and cost.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of data engineering experience.
• Strong SQL, Python and PySpark.
• Experience with Fivetran, CDC and modern ingestion patterns.
• Cloud experience across AWS and/or Azure.
• Terraform and CI/CD experience.
• Strong understanding of enterprise data warehousing and data modelling.

Responsibilities

• Build scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Fivetran, Snowflake and dbt.
• Architect data flows from raw ingestion through to analytics-ready data products.
• Build dbt models, macros, testing, documentation and lineage.
• Design and optimize Snowflake for performance, scalability and cost.
• Develop data engineering solutions using Python, PySpark and SQL.
• Implement Terraform / Infrastructure as Code.
• Improve CI/CD, data quality, observability and production monitoring.
• Help establish engineering standards and mentor other engineers.
