Guidehouse is seeking a Senior Data Engineer in Tysons, VA to own data platforms end to end, write production-grade Python, and design cloud pipelines on AWS. The role blends software and data engineering with architecture leadership and AI tooling for faster, higher-quality delivery.

You will model data for analytics, implement data-quality gates, and drive technical decisions with minimal supervision while growing into applied AI/ML work over time.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in data or software engineering building production systems.
• Strong production-quality Python, testing, and CI/CD practices.
• Expert SQL with window functions, joins and performance tuning.
• Hands-on AWS data stack experience (Glue, Step Functions, S3, Redshift, Lambda, IAM).
• Data modeling incl. dimensional modeling and SCD patterns.
• Infrastructure as code using Terraform or CDK.
• High autonomy with ability to own end-to-end data platforms.
• Agentic coding assistants used effectively in real workflows.
• Analytics fluency to profile data and explain discrepancies.

Responsibilities

• Own data platforms end to end from ingestion to analytics and apps.
• Write production Python and build services, APIs, and tooling.
• Design and orchestrate cloud data pipelines on AWS with retries and data quality gates.
• Model data for analytics and serving, including SCD and grain decisions.
• Implement data-quality checks and reconcile totals for defendable numbers.
• Drive architecture decisions with limited supervision.
• Leverage AI tooling to accelerate delivery while maintaining quality.
