Job summary

Palomar is hiring a Senior Data Engineer to design, develop, and optimize scalable data solutions. You will mentor engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver production-ready data assets and pipelines.

You will focus on data infrastructure for statistical reporting across direct admitted business, in partnership with Actuarial and Compliance, while promoting engineering best practices and innovation.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in data engineering or related field.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python, and modern data warehousing.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and orchestration tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead ELT/ETL pipeline development at scale.
• Design and implement data models and architectures for analytics and reporting.
• Partner with Actuarial and Compliance to build and validate data mappings and transformations for statistical outputs.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve data systems for performance and reliability.
• Champion data quality, governance, and compliance.
