Job summary

SHI One is an exciting team within the Advanced Solutions Group of SHI that is building new digital experiences for our internal users, customers and partners. The Senior Data Engineer will be responsible for the analysis, design, and development of data engineering and ETL workflows.

You will work with customers and internal stakeholders to understand business needs and help them achieve outcomes with your solutions and guidance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience
• 10+ years' experience developing data applications, relational databases, and ETL platforms
• Experience building highly available and testable ETL systems
• Expert knowledge of data modeling, database design, and data warehousing
• Expert knowledge of SQL scripting
• Strong communication and listening skills
• Ability to present ideas clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
• Ability to shift priorities and solve problems
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively

Responsibilities

• Drive data strategy including data model designs and data warehouse management
• Coach team members through code and design reviews to maintain standards
• Ship high-quality solutions with strong technical excellence
• Coordinate with development teams, stakeholders, and customers for data system operations
• Support a data engineering environment focused on developer experience and integration
• Recommend continuous improvements to data and ETL processes
• Contribute to end-to-end data architecture decisions across tech stack
• Create and maintain technical documentation and architecture diagrams
• Review data architecture best practices with the team
