Job summary

Strava is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join the Data Products team. You will build and operate pipelines, APIs, and tooling that turn raw data, models, and embeddings into reliable products used across the app.

You will work closely with ML engineers, data scientists, and product teams to ship data products with high reliability and clear contracts. You will own end-to-end data product delivery, from pipeline design to production monitoring, and contribute to self-serve tooling to empower

Qualifications

• Experience building and operating complex, data-intensive backend systems in production at scale.
• Experience building access layers, platform tooling, or internal developer products for large data/ML systems.
• Production data pipelines using Spark, Kafka, Flink, Iceberg, Snowflake or similar tech.
• Backend services in AWS with Python/Scala/Go; Kubernetes or Docker.
• Mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with ML/data teams.

Responsibilities
