The Byte Club is looking to add a Senior Data Engineer / Data Modeler to their team. This candidate will help build the future of financial data at Liberty Mutual. Key skills include Data Modeling using Erwin, Data Governance using Informatica suite, cross-team collaboration, translating business requirements into data definitions, and deploying data models within AWS. Responsibilities include analyzing, developing, and executing data solutions to manage organizational information lifecycle needs, developing data architectures, establishing standards and governance, and recommending improvements for data quality and efficiency. The role may also involve mentoring junior team members.

About the job:

• Designs and develops programs and tools to support ingestion, curation, and provisioning of complex enterprise data for analytics, reporting, and data science.

• Identifies process improvements to address technology gaps within business processes.

• Builds knowledge of technology enablers.

• Analyzes and recommends solutions to address technology gaps.

• Ensures successful deployment of data solutions to production environments.

• Designs and builds data provisioning workflows, schemas, data transformations, and integrations to enable reporting, analytics, and data science, improving data accessibility, governance, and quality.

• Recommends methods to improve data reliability and efficiency.

• Applies machine learning concepts where applicable.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical or business discipline or equivalent experience, with a technical degree preferred.

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in data engineering and data modeling.

• Extensive experience with data modeling using industry-standard methodologies and tools (Erwin, UML).

• Experience with relational (Postgres) and dimensional data modeling (Snowflake, SSAS).

• Experience developing DDL for cloud platforms (Amazon Redshift, Amazon Aurora, Snowflake) preferred.

• Experience with data governance tools (Informatica IDMC).

• Experience working with AWS preferred.

• Experience deploying DDL within AWS (Redshift, Aurora, Snowflake) preferred.

• Experience building ETL pipelines preferred.

• Experience automating data modeling and deployment processes.

• Experience working with financial data, preferably in the insurance industry.

• Must be proactive, self-driven, with strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills. Demonstrates initiative and logical thinking. Capable of taking solution ownership.
