Job Description:

Role Overview:

The Data Modeler is responsible for designing, developing and managing the data models that support operational, real-time and analytical applications. The Data Modeler will work in a collaborative team environment to assess requirements, define data modelling strategy and deliver solutions.
The Data Modeler must also have a strong hands-on experience in designing business data model (Conceptual Model) aligning and mapping across HL7, FHIR and IBM UDMH with strong Healthcare domain knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design/Develop/Maintain data models (including Business/Conceptual, Logical and Physical models) that support operational, real-time and analytical applications
2. Create optimized data designs that facilitate consistency, reuse and ensure efficient storage and retrieval and limit data duplications
3. Developing models in IBM IDA tool
4. Use data modeling to create a common language with visual references to describe data and its relationships across business domains
5. Design and map business entities/attributes across HL7, FHIR and IBM UDMH
6. Design and map logical/physical entities/attributes across HL7, FHIR and IBM UDMH
7. Conduct data profiling and analysis to identify data quality issues and propose solutions for data cleansing and enrichment
8. Establish team operational plans, develop/implement new processes, standards, and operational plans that impact results, develop technical roadmaps
9. Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure timely, high quality solutions
10. Model/fine tune data models for relational, columnar and no-sql databases
11. Perform Source to Target mapping (covering conceptual, logical and physical models)
12. Influence others in technical decision-making/technology adoption in assigned domain
13. Arrive at solutions including data flow diagrams, process diagrams, use case models as required

Qualification & Skills Required:

1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferably in Computer Science or Information Technology or related field
2. 10+ years of experience in data and analytical engagements with at least 5 years in data modeling role
3. Healthcare domain experience
4. Advanced knowledge in data modeling techniques such as Business process Model, Entity Relationship, dimensional modeling, data vault, etc.
5. Implementation experience in cloud architecture patterns particularly in GCP
6. Strong SQL and programming language experience
7. Experience in Git, Jira and Confluence tools
8. Comprehensive knowledge of agile development methodologies
9. Hands-on experience in ERWin, IBM IDA tools
10. Demonstrated experience modelling for real-time applications
11. Ability to collaborate across multiple work locations/teams
12. Ability to deliver on ambiguous projects with incomplete information
13. Advanced verbal/written/presentation skills
