Job summary

Blockworks is hiring a Senior Data Engineer to lead data models and strategies feeding our products. You will collaborate with engineering to design, implement, and evolve our data pipelines and warehousing approach.

You will bring 4+ years in data modeling, data operations, and warehousing, with strong SQL and experience in Python/Go/Rust/TypeScript. Expect a fast-paced, remote-first environment with a NYC office option and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Significant knowledge of the crypto industry and crypto native mindset.
• 4+ years hands-on experience with data modeling, schema design, data operations and warehousing.
• Backend systems at scale focusing on data processing and ingestion.
• Expertise in SQL and modern data warehouses (Parquet, Postgres, Clickhouse).
• Experience with DevOps tools and cloud solutions (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, GCP).
• Familiarity with Airflow or Dagster and SQL transformation frameworks (dbt, SQLMesh).

Responsibilities

• Own data sourcing pipelines and data warehousing strategy.
• Design and implement ETL solutions across PostgreSQL and Clickhouse.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to the team.
• Drive operational efficiency and automate data workflows.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Research, Product, and Engineering.
