Job summary

Roblox Corporation is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Data Engineering to advance our analytics data platforms. You will define data ontologies, mentor engineers, and build scalable batch and streaming pipelines that support analytics across Roblox.

You will collaborate with Data Science, Experimentation, and ML teams to understand requirements and deliver integrated data solutions while promoting best practices in data operations.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional experience building scalable ETL pipelines using SQL, PySpark, or Scala.
• 3+ years leading data engineering initiatives with business or data science stakeholders.
• Experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Hands-on with ETL orchestration tools (Airflow, Dagster, Luigi, Cloud Composer).
• Experience with GitOps workflows (branching, PRs, CI/CD).

Responsibilities

• Define data ontology and collaborate across teams to collect requirements.
• Lead data engineers and mentor the team.
• Design and maintain batch and streaming data pipelines.
• Develop scalable analytics tooling and frameworks.
• Advocate data operations and lifecycle management best practices.
