Job summary

FedTec seeks a Senior Technical Engineer/Developer to modernize legacy COBOL-based data extraction processes into SAS and SQL within the Enterprise Data Warehouse. The role will replace extracts from SSR, Numident, MEF, and MBR/PHUS Master Files.

On-site at Woodlawn, MD, the candidate must obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance and bring 10+ years of progressive development leadership with strong COBOL, SAS, and ETL experience.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in COBOL and a fourth-generation language (4GL) such as FOCUS.
• Experience with JCL, SAS/SAS Enterprise Guide, File-AID, DB2, Control-M, and Endevor.
• Working knowledge of SQL, Visual Basic, Toad, DBeaver and MS Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Reverse-engineer legacy COBOL modules to develop new SQL/SAS code.
• Analyze COBOL modules, APIs, and SAS programs to compare outputs.
• Replace SSR/MBR/PHUS data extractions with modern tools.
• Provide end-to-end lifecycle development support in EDW environments.
• Document runbooks and provide knowledge transfer sessions.
