Job summary

Tenacious Solutions, LLC is seeking skilled Database Engineers with strong ETL experience to design, implement, and maintain enterprise-level data solutions in the DC Metropolitan area.

Ideal candidates have a BS in CS, 7+ years ETL, and US citizenship with ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance. You will design data models, work with JSON/XML, and ensure data quality across BI and analytics platforms.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Experience in government environments or with government clients.
• 7+ years designing, developing, testing, and implementing ETL solutions for enterprise data analytics.
• US Citizenship with ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance or higher.
• Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Experience developing data models and managing JSON, XML, and semi-structured data for reliable integration and analytics.
• Experience with SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, star/snowflake schemas, and OLAP.
• Experience with Tableau, ArcGIS, PowerBI, and Azure Development Framework.
• Strong SQL and performance tuning skills.
• Hands-on data modeling (conceptual, logical, physical).
• Experience reviewing and optimizing software code for quality and efficiency.
• Experience in Agile environments.
• Experience establishing secure data management and backup policies.
• Python or Java ETL scripting familiarity is a plus.
• Proven ability to communicate with product owners, government leadership, customers, and teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize ETL processes for large-scale data integration.
• Develop and maintain relational and dimensional data models to support BI, reporting, and analytics.
• Work with JSON, XML, and other semi-structured data formats.
• Transform raw data into structured datasets while preserving quality.
• Collaborate with data architects, analysts, and developers to define data requirements and ensure schema consistency.
• Implement data governance, validation, and data quality monitoring best practices.
• Troubleshoot ETL pipeline and database performance issues.
• Document data models, transformation logic, and metadata for maintenance and sharing.
