Job summary

NFI Industries is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead modernization of our data platform, refactor legacy SQL into PySpark pipelines, and design Lakehouse solutions in Azure Synapse, while shaping our Microsoft Fabric migration with external partners.

You will mentor junior engineers, optimize ETL/ELT workloads for performance, and enforce data quality, security, and governance across ingestion and migration paths.

Qualifications

5+ years in data engineering within enterprise cloud environments.
Deep expertise in T-SQL and complex stored procedures.
Strong Python and PySpark for data processing.
Hands-on Azure Synapse, ADLS Gen2, and Azure Pipeline experience.
Ability to refactor legacy SQL into PySpark in Lakehouse.

Responsibilities

Refactor legacy SQL logic into modern PySpark pipelines.
Collaborate with a third-party vendor to design CI/CD and governance for Fabric.
Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines across Azure.
Own data platform health, reduce production bottlenecks.
Mentor associate data engineers and establish best practices.
Ensure data quality, security, and lineage across ingestion/migration.
