Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Data Engineer to help build cloud-first data solutions and empower millions of customers. You will work across Agile teams, mentor peers, and contribute to end-to-end data pipelines using Python, Spark, and modern data warehouses.

Leverage Databricks and Snowflake in a fast-paced environment, driving scalable, secure data platforms while collaborating with product managers and engineers to deliver impactful experiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or related quantitative field.
• At least 4 years of experience in application development (internships excluded).
• At least 2 years of distributed data experience.
• At least 2 years of SQL experience.
• At least 2 years of programming in Python, Java, or Scala.
• At least 2 years of experience in data pipeline design and development.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support data solutions.
• Influence a team of developers, data analysts and data scientists with ML and lakehouse architectures.
• Utilize Python, Spark, and cloud data warehousing platforms like Databricks and Snowflake.
• Mentor data community members and stay updated with data trends.
• Deliver robust cloud-first data solutions that empower customers.
• Architect reusable data engineering patterns for maintainability.
