Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Data Engineer 4 to join our New York team. You will design and deliver cloud-first data solutions, collaborate with Agile teams, and mentor data professionals across ML, analytics, and engineering disciplines.

We value experience across Python, Spark, SQL, and distributed data systems, with hands-on work in Databricks, Snowflake, and related cloud ETL tooling. A strong data modeling background and secure, scalable data pipelines are essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or related quantitative field.
At least 4 years of application development experience.
At least 2 years of distributed data experience.
At least 2 years of SQL experience.
At least 2 years of experience with Python, Java, or Scala.
At least 2 years of data pipeline design and development.
At least 1 year of data modeling and designing end-to-end data solutions using relational and non-relational databases.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support data solutions.
Influence a team of developers, data analysts and data scientists with ML, distributed microservices, lakehouse architectures.
Use Python, Spark and cloud data warehousing platforms like Databricks and Snowflake.
Mentor other data team members and share knowledge on trends and best practices.
Deliver cloud-first data solutions that empower millions of users.
Design and deliver scalable data pipelines with security and compliance in mind.
