Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Data Engineer in McLean, VA to design, build, and scale cloud-based data solutions. You will collaborate with agile teams across engineering, analytics, and product Management to deliver robust data pipelines using Python, Spark, Databricks, Snowflake, and AWS services.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years in data engineering, strong SQL skills, and experience with data pipelines, modeling, and observability in a cloud environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related quantitative field.
• At least 2 years of distributed data experience and SQL, plus proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala.
• Experience with data pipelines, data modeling, and end-to-end data solutions in relational and non-relational stores.
• Strong collaboration in Agile environments and ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and support cloud data solutions in Capital One's data platforms.
• Collaborate with Agile teams of engineers, analysts, and data scientists on data products.
• Architect data pipelines for scalability, performance, and security across cloud data warehouses.
• Mentor teammates and evangelize data engineering best practices and observability.
