Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Data Engineer 5 in McLean, VA to design and deliver cloud-first data solutions across teams. You’ll work with Python, Spark, SQL, Databricks and Snowflake, shaping scalable data pipelines and platform architectures.

You will mentor peers, influence data engineering practices, and drive large-scale data initiatives end to end while collaborating with product managers and engineers in an agile environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 6+ years in application development and 4+ years in distributed data.
• 4+ years in SQL and 4+ years in data pipelines and modeling.
• Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and Snowflake/Databricks.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Agile teams to design and support full-stack data solutions.
• Lead data pipelines and platforms with focus on scalability and reliability.
• Mentor engineers and share best practices across data community.
