Goodwin is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to modernize our data platforms and foster a data-driven culture across IT and business units. You will guide governance, integration, and analytics initiatives while collaborating with senior leadership to align with strategic goals.

The role emphasizes building scalable data pipelines, improving data quality, and enabling enterprise analytics. Strong SQL, Python, and cloud experience are essential in a fast-paced, global environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred.
• Five+ years in a senior data engineering or database architecture role.
• Industry-recognised database or cloud platform certifications are a plus.
• Experience working with cloud-based data platforms and services, such as Snowflake data cloud.
• Advanced SQL development and modelling skills.
• Strong experience designing, building, and maintaining data integration and ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Working knowledge of Python for data engineering and automation.
• Proven experience with relational database management systems and related data technologies.
• Experience integrating with APIs and working with JSON/XML data formats.
• Experience using Git or similar tools for source control and version management.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment.
• Experience with database performance monitoring and tuning.
• Familiarity with AI and large language model technologies.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in teams.
• Excellent organisational, customer service, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage, evaluate, and enhance our data platforms, leveraging cloud-based solutions to improve scalability and security.
• Contribute to standards for data governance, integration, quality management, and lifecycle management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior management to drive data-driven initiatives.
• Monitor and optimize enterprise data platforms and data engineering processes for performance and quality.
• Support data projects from design through implementation with stakeholder engagement.
