Job summary

Kemper Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to lead the design, development, and delivery of enterprise data platforms. You will define architecture, mentor teams, and drive strategic data initiatives across analytics, reporting, and BI.

The role emphasizes Snowflake, Core AWS, Data Vault 2.0, and modern ELT frameworks, with hybrid work options in Chicago, IL and other locations. Strong leadership and collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of data engineering experience with at least 2 in senior/lead/architect roles.
• Advanced Snowflake expertise and Data Vault 2.0 proficiency.
• Strong ETL/ELT and data integration tool experience (Informatica IDMC, PowerCenter, Pentaho, AWS Glue).
• Deep knowledge of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and ELT patterns.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and define enterprise data architectures using Snowflake and modern ELT frameworks.
• Architect scalable data pipelines and ingestion/ transformation using Python, Spark, and cloud-native tools.
• Collaborate with product owners and analytics teams to deliver high-impact data solutions.
• Ensure production reliability, monitoring, and performance optimization of data platforms.
