Job summary

CVS Health Corporation seeks a Sr. Data Engineer to design and implement data pipelines powering analytical capabilities in a healthcare context. This hands-on role requires translating business needs into scalable technical solutions.

You will model core data domains, build ETL/ELT processes, and collaborate with data scientists and analysts to enable BI and ML workloads across cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• Proficient in SQL with ability to craft complex queries.
• Experience with Python and ETL pipelines.
• Experience deploying data pipelines in cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Knowledge of data governance in cloud environments.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with data scientists, analysts, and product owners.
• Bachelor's degree; healthcare data experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Data Modeling & Architecture: Develop and optimize data models and schemas to support analytics, reporting, and ML requirements.
• Data Pipeline Development: Design and build ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, process, and transform large datasets from multiple sources.
• Performance Optimization: Tune partitions and clustering to improve query performance and reduce costs.
• Data Quality & Governance: Establish data quality standards, governance, and security policies.
• Data Integration & Transformation: Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to design data solutions that integrate with BI tools and ML models.
• Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Create docs for pipelines and workflows and mentor junior engineers.
• Archival & Data Infrastructure: Design data infrastructure for analytical workloads and data warehousing concepts.
