Job summary

First American is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and deploy scalable big data platforms for analytics and processing. You will collaborate with software developers, DBAs, data scientists, and analysts to ensure robust data delivery across projects.

The ideal candidate has 5-8 years of related experience, strong SQL/T-SQL, and expertise in data modeling, ETL, and NoSQL databases. A modern cloud background and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5-8 years of directly related experience.
• Experience in Agile SDLC.
• Proficient with SQL and T-SQL.
• Experience building data/ETL pipelines and data warehouses.
• Experience with data modeling and performance tuning.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Cloud computing knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Viewed as a data expert; drives innovation and plays a key role in the department. Participates in highly visible initiatives that have broad impact.
• Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automate manual processes, optimize data delivery, re-design infrastructure for greater scalability.
• Design, develop, code, test, and document architectures and applications.
• Work closely with team members and cross-functional teams to ensure design/architecture/deliverables support business requirements and align with best-practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve a wide range of data issues.
• Makes innovative recommendations to improve data reliability, efficiency and quality.
• Required to perform duties outside of normal work hours based on business needs.
